The Action Figure Contest
A contest by: [Ravenclaw]
The Idea: Welcome to the contest where you're judged on the best modifications made to any random old action figure!
The Goal: Is for you to take the figure and turn it into your very own character!
The Prize: Unending respect from your fellow artists! Yeah that sounds kinda crummy, I'll come up with a banner or a tag or something you can show off.
The Deadline: November 30th but negotiable, 5 entries or more. Depending on how successful the advertising for the contest is.
The Rules:
1: The figure must be modified by you. No stealing! You will be reported.
2: It's understood that some people may be entering a figure modified before the contest. If you had the assistance of a parent at the time please state this. You won't be disqualified for honesty, but if you where 19 and your mommy helped you please don't enter. This rule only applies for younger contestants or contestants who where younger when they modified their figure.
3: You must display your figure with a Before and After picture. If your entering a previously modified figure and can't obtain a before picture I will accept a pic of original equipment that came with the figure. Like tiny people sized hand cuffs, clothes and stuff. It's only for your BEFORE pic that you can use an image that's not yours. If you can find a pic of the original action figure online you may use it.
4: There must be some sort of back story for the character you've created. You can't just cut Wolverine's claws off and claim that he's your werewolf character in human form. There will be a basic character template provided below.
5: Please refrain from using any baby dolls, Barbies, Bratz, Polly Pocket or anything else equally dumb. If you use one of these girly items and still wish to enter your entry will be based on how DIFFERENT it looks from the original. And don't just take a bunch of Bionacle bits and compile them together. The goal is for something relatively human. You may however mix and match action figure parts like heads/arms/win
gs but if it looks like a jumbled mess of crap I'll yank it from the contest.
6: Artwork for your character is encouraged but not necessary. If you've got a drawing or photo-manipulation of your character I encourage that you add it to the entry so we can experience the full effect of your Action Figure Vision.
7: Entries should be scaled down for the sake of wiki space. If you don't know how to do this yourself I'll take care of it.
8: Please reserve your spot so I know who's prepared to enter and you can contact me if you have any questions.
9: If your the kind of artistic genius who can build a figure yourself by all means go for it! It would be nice if they had moving appendages but say you whittled it out of wood and can't achieve this effect. You won't be disqualified. Before pics are still required even if it's a pile of plastic appendages or a block of wood/clay.
10: This should be what accompanies your entry so we may learn what you where attempting to achieve. I'll post my own as an example.

Name: Delaney Blackfeather
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Special Abilities: Shape Shifter
Affiliation: X-Men
History: Born in Cherokee North Carolina her abilities first surfaced at school, when being picked on by a bully she nearly ripped his face off in the form of a wolf. Her parents took her out of school to be home taught and to teach her how to control her shifting. It wasn't until after her parent's disappearance when she was 21 that she took a teaching position at The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.

Tools: 1 5" Pocahontas action figure, red paint, black finger nail polish, 1 Dale Earnhardt pocket knife and a lot of patience.
Artist Comments: The most difficult part was removing the fringe on the original version of the figure and trying to sculpt a more defined torso. This took about 5 hours from start to finish. I will be uploading a better version of the figure pics once I get a camera.
